The Need for Safety Training
No one should ignore the need for safety training; as the responsibility to provide and maintain a safe workplace falls not only on the operative but on every one in your organization.
As an employer the health and safety executive expect you to execute your 'duty of care' in this regard by supplying safe and appropriate equipment for the job at hand as well as training in the safe use of such equipment.
The employee has the responsibility to heed and apply such knowledge so that their use of the equipment protects their own and others safety. Mechanical Elevating Work Platforms, Scaffold, Towers, Ladders and Stagings are designed to help people gain access to potentially dangerous areas and as such their use presents a real training need.
Evidence of Competence
In the unfortunate case of an accident, you will, as an employer, be called upon to provide ample evidence that your operatives have had sufficient training for them to be viewed as competent enough for the job at hand
